The Genius Bar didn't explain the situation to me, they just replaced my hard drive. Imagine my heartbreak when I returned home, opened my "fixed computer" and discovered that my entire story - photos, music, journal, legal papers, bookmarks, apps., etc. were gone. I called them immediately but they were closed so I left a message. For two days...no answer. Then I called the national support number and they contacted the store. The store manager finally called back and said that they had already sent my hard drive to a recycling center. They weren't helpful at all. I hope to spread the word so this doesn't happen to someone else. Don't trust Apple with your hard drive! You’re so fortunate.
